Position Summary
The Graduate Inspection Engineer will support asset integrity management programs for upstream oil and gas facilities by conducting inspections, analysing data, and implementing quality control procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role will assist senior inspection personnel in identifying potential defects, corrosion, and other integrity threats to maintain safe and reliable operations of critical infrastructure while contributing to risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
Selected candidate will work directly with senior engineering staff, mentors, peers, and other employees who will contribute to their career development through on-the-job, informal, and formal development. Upon successful completion of the graduate training program, the participant will be given a permanent assignment based on their skills and the needs of the business.

Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL
1. Overall responsibilities may involve conceptual design work, engineering analysis, writing, or reviewing technical proposals, equipment evaluations and sourcing.
2. Provides direct support to Engineering Manager/Project Manager/Project Engineers as assigned during each rotation.
3. Writes or reviews technical proposals, work instructions, procedures, and specifications.
4. Conducts initial conceptual design work based on project design basis.
5. Contributes to design of new products and techniques, modifies existing designs and techniques, improves installation techniques, and develops test procedures.
6. Performs equipment evaluations, sourcing, and potential supplier selections.
7. Evaluates project design basis data to determine feasibility of equipment and/or services being proposed.
8. Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering, analysis, and design related tasks.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
9. M.Eng or equivalent in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution that can lead to getting chartered with the Engineering Council (UK)
10. Exceptional verbal and written communication and organizational skills, time management, multitasking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are necessary.

13. Coursework, project work, or job experience that demonstrates an ability to think at a higher level and act systematically to identify problems, requirements, and solutions.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
14. Apply knowledge of materials science, corrosion mechanisms, and failure modes relevant to upstream oil and gas equipment
15. Understand and implement API standards (particularly API 570, 510, 653), ASME codes, and other relevant industry standards and specifications
16. Demonstrate understanding of risk-based inspection (RBI) methodologies and fitness-for-service (FFS) assessment concepts
17. Identify metallurgical degradation mechanisms and their impact on equipment integrity
18. Ability to work with customers to understand needs and make sure our products meet their needs
19. Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, presenting findings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams
20. Knowledge of appropriate steps to analytical problem solving. Familiarity with data analysis software like Python (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, and Matplotlib) or Matlab is desired
21. Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognising responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals

28. Understanding of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, familiarity with industry standards (such as ASME, API, NACE), and basic knowledge of inspection techniques and integrity assessment methods
29. Ability to analyse and interpret data from inspections and tests. Problem-solving skills to identify, understand, and address potential material failures or corrosion issues
30. Familiarity with engineering software tools used in material analysis, corrosion modeling, and structural integrity management (ANSYS, Abaqus, Comsol etc.)
31. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices in the oil and gas industry. Understanding of risk assessment methodologies pertinent to fixed equipment.
