Shift Leader - Family Home Salary - £35,235 - £39,513 (Grade 6) Contract type - Full Time, permanent post We are looking for a responsible, caring and nurturing person to join our team as a Shift Leader. You will work with a newly established team to provide outstanding care to two Wolverhampton young people who have experienced early childhood trauma in our residential home. Within this role, you will support our children and young people emotionally and practically, making sure that they are safe and healthy. You will work alongside the other shift leaders and the management team to safeguard children and young people and receive day-to-day care which meets their health, education, social, psychological, and emotional needs. The Shift Leader will help with the day to day running of the home, the monitoring of the quality of care and the supervision of staff to ensure children and young people’s care plans are being implemented and our children and young people are achieving positive outcomes. You will need to have at least 2 years’ experience of working in a residential setting within the last 5 years, and 1 years’ experience of supervising staff in a care profession. Sound knowledge of Children’s Home regulations will be essential. The postholder will need to have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). You will be: Willing to work as part of a team; working in a supportive and holistic way to support young people to achieve good outcomes. Willing and able to work shifts and sleep in shifts. Child focused and passionate about making a difference to children and young people’s lives. Understanding of the challenges of the role but committed to providing good quality care in line with the relevant legislation. Flexible and able to work weekends, evenings, bank holidays and sleep in on a rota basis to provide continuity of care to our children and young people.
