As a result, they are creating a brand-new Production Engineer position to support their busy operations and drive efficiency. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a background as a CNC Machinist who has transitioned into Production Engineering. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will play a critical role in the planning, coordination, and optimisation of production activities on the shop floor, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality output.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement detailed production plans and schedules to ensure on-time delivery of products.
* Collaborate closely with machinists, supervisors, and quality control teams to resolve any production issues.
* Provide technical support and guidance to CNC machinists, offering practical solutions to manufacturing challenges.
* Optimise machining processes, tooling selection, and machine utilisation for maximum efficiency.
* Monitor production KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
* Occasionally operate CNC machines when necessary to support production demands.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
* Assist in the introduction of new products and provide input on design for manufacturability.
Skills And Qualifications
* Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, with hands-on expertise in programming, setting, and operating CNC machines.
* Previous experience in a Production Engineer or similar role within a CNC machining environment.
* Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, materials, tooling, and G-code programming.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documents.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.
* Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
* Proficiency in using CAD/CAM software is desirable.
