A cutting edge R&D company are looking for a Network Engineer to manage the day-to-day operation of their network infrastructure. This role involves configuring and maintaining network hardware, diagnosing issues, and ensuring security across the network.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure, install, and automate network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
Perform cabling installation and replacement in an active data center.
Assist in diagnosing and resolving network issues.
Manage IP allocations, DNS records, firewall rules, and routing configurations.
Provide input on network design with a focus on security.
Configure and maintain servers providing network services (DNS, DHCP, VPN, proxies).
Document network configurations and manage infrastructure changes.
Adhere to policies and procedures and promote continuous improvement.
Experience & Skills:
Proven experience in network and security maintenance, including upgrades, patches, and security configurations.
Knowledge of network security standards and practices.
Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (Ethernet, IP routing, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NTP).
Linux network configuration experience, including addressing, VLANs, and firewall configuration.
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve network performance issues.
