Our client, a successful independent practice is seeking to recruit a bookkeeper to work on client records, including VAT Return preparation. Duties will include: Recording all financial transactions into our client's accounting software systems. Preparing accounts up to trial balance, including reconciliation of all key balance sheet nominals including bank reconciliations, VAT, PAYE etc. Preparing Profit and loss and Balance sheet reports. Preparing VAT returns (Cash or Accrual basis) so that they meet with the requirements of Making Tax Digital and informing our clients of any refunds/liabilities due. Reconciling VAT on a quarterly basis Assisting clients where necessary and occasional travel to clients’ offices in the future. Assisting with our payroll bureau service when needed and providing cover for holidays. Assisting with ad hoc admin duties when needed. Skills Required Experience in Sage Accounts, and Xero. Good knowledge of word and Excel Hardworking, showing initiative and must be self-motivated Organised approach and ability to cope with repetitive tasks Detail-orientated, accurate and diligent Ability to meet deadlines Works well under pressure and tight timelines Hours and benefits An approved training practice for around 6 years for both institutes, Happy to sign off training records. Staff currently either work 08:30am to 17:00 or 09:00am to 17:30 4% employers pension contribution 08:30 to 17:00 or 09:00 to 17:30 Annual holiday entitlement of 28 days inclusive of public/bank holidays. After three years of continuous service this increases to five working weeks. Thereafter an additional day for each complete year of service, up to maximum of six weeks.
