As a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GRAD TA), you will support secondary school students in their academic, social, and emotional development. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will assist in delivering lessons, managing classroom activities, and providing one-on-one or small group support to students. Graduate TA Responsibilities: Assist teachers in preparing and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the curriculum. Provide targeted support to students on a one-to-one or small group basis, helping them overcome learning challenges. Encourage student participation and engagement in classroom activities. Monitor student progress and report feedback to teachers to aid in lesson planning. Support students with their academic and emotional needs, fostering a positive learning environment. Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure school policies are followed. Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources. Support extra-curricular activities, such as clubs and events, to enhance the student experience. Requirements that we are looking for in a Graduate Teaching Assistant: A degree in any discipline (Psychology, Education, or related fields preferred). A recent graduate with experience in working with children or young people (voluntary or paid) is advantageous. A genuine passion for education and supporting young people. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with students and staff. A proactive and adaptable attitude, with the ability to work in different classroom settings. An interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education. An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willing to apply for one.
