A London based design consultancy is seeking to appoint a Principal to Associate Building Physics Consultant to join their established Energy team.
This role will offer you the opportunity to get involved in a range of projects, from commercial office refurbishments in listed buildings to new build science parks. About the role:
The client is looking for an individual with a keen interest in the field and strong experience in operational energy and building performance. In this role, you will engage in building energy modelling across the business, helping to deliver net zero carbon performance to meet client and national NZC targets and advising clients on how to reduce the carbon emissions in their existing operations. As a key member of the team, you will be embedded in the design from planning through design and construction to in-use, with the opportunity to take on line & team management responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
1. Building performance and passive design analysis.
2. Operational energy assessment and reduction plans, following CIBSE TM54 and NABERS DfP modelling.
3. Part L and EPC compliance modelling.
4. Preparation of energy statements.
5. Support the wider MEP design consultants.
6. Attend and lead meetings and workshops with MEP engineers, sustainability consultants, architects, and other building professionals and present work undertaken.
Requirements:
1. 5+ years relevant experience within a design consultancy.
2. Level 5 Accredited Non-Domestic Energy Assessor, ideally using IES VE.
3. Proficient with ApHVAC modelling operational energy performance of buildings.
4. Demonstrable experience with London Plan and other planning policy energy statements, such as the Greater Cambridge Plan.
5. Experience of liaising with a project design team and able to run workshops.
