Job summary Summary of the role and expectation The Involvement and Volunteer Lead at RNOH offers the post holder a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in all areas of the RNOH at an existing and pivotal time. The role is all about making sure our volunteering opportunities provide mutual benefit to the volunteers and to our beneficiaries. You will play the leading role in designing and developing opportunities for volunteers from our local community to provide a valuable contribution to our hospital and the work of the RNOH. With volunteer numbers consistently around 200 the Involvement and Volunteer Lead manages the largest department within the Trust. The Volunteer Service department has a reputation of being responsive to need, open to new innovations and ideas, proactive in the area of change whilst supporting staff and patients. The post holder will be inquisitive, imaginative, approachable, and receptive whilst developing excellent relationships, Trust wide, with staff of all grades, patients, and the volunteers themselves. The post holder will appreciate motivations of each volunteer and how to gain the most positive experience for them and for the Trust, supporting and challenging when necessary. Managing a small team the post holder will motivate and develop the VS staff, promote team work and further engagement.
