Role: 2nd Line Desktop Engineer

The role is an integral part of small but growing IT department supporting the business in delivering triple turnover growth over the next 3 years. There has been a diversification of services and a huge amount of investment from the global group leading to most sustainable and secure growth phase in the company’s history.
The IT infrastructure has recently been modernized such that all resources are held in Microsoft Azure and they are now looking to leverage new technologies and services to further grow the business.

The Role:
We have an excellent opportunity for a talented Desktop Engineer to join the IT team. The Desktop Engineer will provide 1st and 2nd line IT support for end users to ensure optimal workstation performance. Key focus in the role will be installing, diagnosing, maintaining and upgrading all hardware and equipment, including (but not limited to) PC, terminals, mobile devices, printers and scanners.
Key role responsibilities and technical requirements:
1. Desktop & Laptop PC Equipment Procurement and Inventory management.
2. Mobile Device Management.
3. WEE Compliant Equipment Disposal.
4. Infrastructure Deployment / Administration.
5. ERP Systems Administration and Support - Training Provided.
6. O365 Administration including Teams, OneDrive, Exchange & SharePoint - Experience not required in all the O365 applications.
7. CCTV Systems management, deployment and enhancement.
8. Effective management of IT support desk user tickets.
9. Regular visits to processing plants to support PC & other equipment.
10. Working with Global IT team to ensure common security and other standards are maintained.
11. User account management in AD and other systems.
12. Compliance with GDPR standards and other internal IT policies.
Essential skills and experience:
1. Relevant qualification in IT/Computer studies.
2. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
3. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Efficient time management and organisation skills.
6. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications.
7. Driving license and willing to travel occasionally.
