Business Development Manager (BDM) – UK & Ireland

Position: Business Development Manager (BDM)
Location: UK & Ireland (Remote with regular travel)
Reports To: Commercial Director, UK&I
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Growth: Drive new business acquisition and identify key market opportunities for Sensormatic’s products, including loss prevention, inventory management, shopper insights, and compliance management solutions.
2. Closing Deals: Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract negotiation and closing, ensuring a smooth transition from lead generation to final contract.
3. Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with senior decision-makers in target sectors such as retail, hospitality, and logistics, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
4. Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve growth targets, leveraging market analysis, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback.
5. Partnership Development: Collaborate with channel partners, distributors, and resellers to expand Sensormatic’s footprint in the region.
6. Product Knowledge & Advocacy: Be the subject matter expert on Sensormatic’s solutions, particularly in compliance management, and provide actionable insights.
7. Innovation & Creativity: Develop creative use cases for Sensormatic’s products, identifying new ways to solve customer problems and enhance operational efficiency.
8. Outcome-based Selling: Focus on selling based on outcomes, business benefits, and ROI, aligning Sensormatic’s solutions with customers' strategic goals.
9. Strategic Partnerships: Build and maintain long-term strategic partnerships with key clients, ensuring sustained opportunities and maximizing customer loyalty.
10. Presenting Ability: Effectively present Sensormatic’s solutions to key stakeholders, articulating product benefits, ROI, and business value.
11. Retail Experience Centre (REC): Utilize the Retail Experience Centre (REC) at Sensormatic’s Solihull offices to display our product portfolio.
12. Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to position new products effectively.
13. Reporting & Forecasting: Regularly report on sales performance, opportunities, and pipeline status to senior management.
Key Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in a B2B sales or business development role, preferably within retail technology or related industries.
2. Strong understanding of the retail landscape, including trends in inventory management, loss prevention, shopper insights, and compliance management technologies.
3. Excellent closing skills with a demonstrated ability to take opportunities through the sales process to a successful close.
4. Strong presentation, communication, negotiation, and people skills.
5. Ability to manage multiple client relationships and projects simultaneously.
6. An initiative-taking, purposeful mindset with a record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
8. Knowledge of automated compliance technologies and regulatory requirements is a plus.
9. Demonstrated ability to think creatively and innovatively.
10. Strong ability to sell based on business outcomes, ROI, and long-term value to the client.
11. Proven experience in developing and nurturing long-term, strategic client partnerships.
