We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our team here at Solihull Council.
As Senior HR Advisor, you will be responsible for the day to day line management of a team of HR Advisors, managing their workflow and delivery. Supporting complex cases, you will provide comprehensive advice and support to managers across our Children’s Services Directorate, promoting best practice and ensuring compliance with employment law.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Working in partnership with HR and OD colleagues to deliver joined up working in delivery of a comprehensive HR service.
* Coaching line managers in HR practices to ensure proactive management of people related issues.
* Liaising and working with Trade Unions in service delivery to achieve effective resolutions to employee relations matters.
* Managing or escalating more complex employee relations issues with the support of the HR Business Manager.
* Leading HR advisor on the implementation of management of change / TUPE initiatives through providing sound advice and guidance, ensuring line managers are fully supported; correct processes are followed, and consultations take place within reshaping timelines.
* Contributing to the formulation, review and implementation of resource planning strategies, including supporting the resourcing team.
* Keeping up to date with changes in employment legislation, case law and best practice, and develop knowledge across all areas within the authority.
You will have:
* A CIPD qualification.
* Ability to manage teams, allocate and plan workload.
* Generalist HR experience in an operational / consultancy HR service within a complex organisation / multi-disciplinary team.
* Experience of advising and guiding managers on a varied employee relations caseload and resourcing issues.
* Experience of facilitating organisational change including advising and supporting managers on restructuring.
* A strong focus on customer service, with the ability to engage and build positive professional relationships.
* Experience of researching and presenting reports on HR matters and initiatives including claims submitted by Trade Unions.
