Reporting to the People Operations Compliance Manager, the ESG Officer will provide support with administration, research, and presentations to Senior Directors and the wider business, new process rollouts and coordination support, alongside ESG and Compliance Project Management from start through to completion. There will be a particular focus on the Carbon Footprinting Project and social best practices and compliance initiatives across the business.
The ESG Officer will support the People Operations Compliance Manager to steer the future direction of CMS’s ESG practices and enhance CMS’s reputation and relationships with investors, customers, suppliers, employees, and government agencies. This is a supporting role, critical to the success of ESG awareness across the business, and will help to set accurate targets to reduce company emissions as well as support the implementation of key processes and policies across the CMS Group.
The role will involve gathering information from many functions across the business, so understanding competing priorities and building relationships across departments is key. Travel to other CMS locations in the UK, Ireland, and internationally will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drive the collection, organisation, and analysis of ESG data to meet global ESG reporting and communication needs.
2. Analyse results and develop action plans to ensure CMS has a best-in-class ESG program.
3. Develop corporate communications strategies and materials in collaboration with the Corporate Communications team for the communication of ESG initiatives to all internal and external audiences.
4. Monitor and track progress against ESG goals and metrics.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
2. Excellent communication skills both in written and verbal format.
3. Minimum of 2 years’ office administrator experience from an ESG background.
4. Ability to demonstrate a capacity to learn and grasp the changing nature of legislation in the ESG space.
