Nord Anglia International School Al Khor is looking to appoint a Whole School PE & Dance Teacher, to join our talented and dedicated team of educators from August 2025.

Nord Anglia International School Al Khor (NAISAK) is a highly successful, growing school with a committed and inspirational team of teaching professionals at its heart. Our close-knit, supportive team is proud to be at the centre of the local community, educating over 1200 young people aged 3-18. Secondary is 4-form entry at Key Stage 3, and 3-form entry in KS4 upwards, with approximately 430 students aged 11-18.
Our school resides in the town of Al Khor, 35 minutes north of Doha (the capital of Qatar). We educate both local and expat students through a bespoke Secondary curriculum which draws on both the English National curriculum and the Qatar Ministry of Education curriculum.
The school is focused on supporting students towards enhanced English language acquisition, excellent academic outcomes and outstanding learning experiences through STEAM, Performing Arts, extra-curricular activities, residential trips, and international awards for wider achievement.
The school prides itself on fostering student wellbeing, personalisation of learning and a strong sense of multiculturalism and global citizenship. We also have strong through-school links and ensure consistent progression from Primary to Secondary to offer all our students a rewarding learning journey. The Primary school buildings have recently undergone further refurbishment following the opening of a brand-new Secondary building in August 2019. Job Purpose
To display a deep understanding of the PE & Dance curriculum across your phase specialism (eg Primary or Secondary) together with a broad understanding of the Dance curriculum across the 3-18 age range.
To deliver high standards of teaching and learning in Dance across the 3-18 age range.
To nurture a love of Dance and the Performing Arts in your students.
To take an active part in the development of Dance and the Nord Anglia-Juilliard Performing Arts collaboration.
To undertake comprehensive planning, assessment, and reporting duties in order to improve student outcomes.
To be accountable for raising student achievement and progress in your classes.
To take ownership of your own professional growth by accessing a range of Professional Learning opportunities.
To engage in extra-curricular activities as required, ensuring a high level of student participation in a wide range of activities.
To exhibit dedication to bringing to life the mission, vision, and values of Nord Anglia International School Al Khor, Qatar; take an active part in the continuous development of the school as a whole.
Job Responsibilities
Learning and Teaching
* To be an exemplary teacher, clearly demonstrating effective planning, teaching and organisation, and high standards of achievement and behaviour in Dance lessons.
* To be responsible for the development and on-going review of the school’s Dance curriculum and related schemes of work.
* To follow the school’s assessment, recording and reporting procedures.
* To follow the cultural expectations of Qatar and promote national identity.
* To be willing to share good practice within and beyond the Dance department, particularly with regards to the Juilliard programme
* To promote cultural entitlement through the provision of a broad range of enrichment activities during and after the school day.
* To use the student tracking and monitoring processes to advance children’s learning and enhance professional practice in line with the school’s aspirations and priorities.
* To take personal responsibility for professional learning and development.
* To communicate effectively the school's narrative, being an ambassador for our school at all times.

Personal Specifications
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
* Bachelors Degree in Dance, Performing Arts of related subject OR Bachelors Degree plus PGCE/QTS: Essential
* Further Degree (e.g. MA): Desirable
* Teaching Qualifications: Essential
* Proven track record and two years of teaching experience: Essential
* Knowledge of the relevant aspects of the UK National Curriculum: Essential
* Experience of the UK National Curriculum: Desirable
* Experience of teaching dance across the full 3-18 age range: Desirable
* Experience teaching within an International School: Desirable
* Excellent oral and written communication skills: Essential
* Ability to integrate technology into the classroom experience to enhance and extend the learning of students: Essential
* Native English Speaker: Essential
