Take personal ownership in giving and receiving feedback; reinforce positive behaviours, and constructively challenge behaviour that does not reflect our Trust values. Work to ensure that the workplace is free from harassment and discrimination (see also protected characteristics details in the Equality and Diversity statement below). Welcome patients and visitors to the department. Provide/receive complicated and sensitive information relating to patient care communicating clearly, concisely and accurately and escalating enquiries where appropriate. Communicate at all times with tact and empathy, and interact appropriately with patients and relatives/carers where barriers to communication may exist (e.g challenging behaviour, varying levels of ability, where English is not the first language). Planning and Organisational skills As required, perform routine clerical and reception duties. Handle, log and store patient property (including clothing and valuables).
