As the Principal Maintenance Manager for the Milton Keynes Waste Recovery Park (MKWRP), you will be responsible for leading in the effective and efficient maintenance of the overall plant. This includes services and equipment as well as planned and unplanned maintenance activities on site. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for budgetary control of both Profit and Loss and lifecycle. They will be responsible for the management of change for the site and act as the site confined space responsible person.
This role operates on the MKWRP Senior Leadership Team and will have overall responsibility for the management of the maintenance teams on site. The role reports into the Account Director with 5 direct reports; 2 x Lead Mechanical Technicians, Principal Welder, Facilities Manager and Maintenance Planner.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead in the effective delivery of the planned and unplanned maintenance activities at site.
* Set and manage the maintenance budget on an annual basis
* Manage the Non-Routine major maintenance (lifecycle) budget for the site
* Define the work scope of, and manage the storeman’s duties including the management and control of ordering of spare parts and running of both the onsite and offsite stores facilities
* Manage and oversee the use of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (Pirana) for the site.
* Control confined space working regulations and act as the site confined space responsible person
* Provide technically sound design solutions including all associated reporting and cost estimating.
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Maintenance Team members within the sphere of their core technical competence.
* Compile, communicate and present regular project portfolio financial update reports.
* Comply with procurement processes and actively review and manage supply chain performance in association with procurement colleagues.
* Providing day to day management, supervision, planning and co-ordination of the Maintenance Teams, to deliver maximum Plant flexibility, availability and overall performance in line with high standards of Health & Safety, Environmental & Quality performance
* Co-ordinate accident and non-conformity reporting both internally and to the Clients appointed agent.
* Lead on management of change for the site, undertake technical reviews, Design Changes, Route Cause Analysis of failures
* Comply with the procurement process and actively review and manage Supply chain performance
* Maintain a record of Preventative Maintenance Routines promoting maximum up time.
* Undertake routine planned and unplanned maintenance tasks in line with the maintenance programme
Skills & Experience
* HNC/HND in Engineering
* Managed the maintenance of a range of Energy from Waste technologies, including thermal power plants
* Managed and controlled Site Programmed Outages and ensured they are delivered on time and on budget
* CSCS card or ability to hold relevant professional card
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Clear and analytical thinking – able to diagnose technical issues and link to business performance and assign priorities and resources
* Action oriented, agile and decisive
* Relevant technical competency for the facility
* Consulting and collaborative, engaging multi discipline teams to deliver programme and projects
* Leads by example, with high integrity and ethics
* Good organisational and planning skills
