Children's Residential Support Worker (Temp-to-Perm)
Role Overview
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care, support, and guidance to children and young people within a residential setting. You will work collaboratively within a dedicated team to create a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment where each child can thrive and reach their full potential.
This is a full-time position (39 hours per week), involving a combination of long days, sleep-ins, and weekend shifts. The initial 12 weeks will be worked via our agency, after which you will transition to a permanent role with our client.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver day-to-day care and support to children and young people within the home.
* Assist and encourage children in their daily routines, promoting independence and personal growth.
* Foster positive, trusting relationships with children, providing emotional support and encouragement.
* Implement individual care plans and behaviour management strategies to ensure each child's welfare and development.
* Contribute to household responsibilities, including cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
* Participate in recreational and social activities that promote emotional and social development.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational policies and procedures related to the care of children.
Candidate Requirements
* Essential: Previous experience working with children and young people in a residential care environment.
* Compassionate and empathetic, with a genuine passion for supporting the welfare of children and young people.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
* Strong team player with a collaborative approach to care delivery.
* Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends, sleep-ins, and holidays.
* Committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and young people.
* A full UK manual driving licence is essential.
