Job Title: Robotics Applications Engineer
Reporting To: Service and Applications Manager
Location: Liverpool – office/workshop based with travel.
We are seeking a Robotics Applications Engineer to play a key role in the development and integration of robotics software and hardware for various systems. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and test innovative solutions for machining and additive applications.
A leading integrator specializing in machining applications, our company is at the forefront of using advanced robotics systems to enhance manufacturing productivity in the UK and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Participate in the installation and commissioning team at customer sites.
2. Lead commissioning activities.
3. Perform Factory and Site Acceptance Tests.
4. Design and develop robotic systems and software applications tailored to client needs (Kuka KRL knowledge desirable).
5. Integrate operation systems and troubleshoot common software/hardware issues in complex robotic systems and overall electric-mechanical drive system components.
6. Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Perform system integration, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure performance and reliability.
8. Apply knowledge of robotics kinematics, motion control, and multi-robot coordination.
9. Work with the service and maintenance team to provide post-installation support services.
10. Support development activities for consecutive projects.
11. Contribute to Hazard Identification, Risk Assessments, and RAMS within a multi-disciplined team.
12. Contribute to system documentation, O&M manuals, flow diagrams, etc.
Requirements:
1. Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Robotics Engineering/Computer Science/Electronics or similar engineering disciplines, or equivalent time-served experience.
2. Strong understanding of machinery systems, including hardware and software components.
3. Familiarity with industrial robot manipulators (e.g., Strong programming skills).
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
5. Ability to safely drive own or company vehicles to perform duties.
