SEN Experienced Teaching Assistant Teaching Personnel are working with a lovely school in the Portsmouth area, who require experienced Teaching Assistants to support children who have Special Educational Needs. The school are set in lovely grounds and cater for Primary aged children with moderate to complex needs, to include Social and Communication difficulties, Speech and Language needs, learning difficulties, and Autism. As the successful SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the learning and development of children with additional needs. You will work closely with experienced teaching staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student is encouraged to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with additional needs, both inside and outside the classroom. Support students with academic tasks, including reading, writing, and numeracy, adapting materials and activities to suit individual needs. Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their independence and self-esteem. Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to monitor student progress and contribute to the assessment process. Promote inclusion and diversity within the school community, respecting the individuality of each student. Display a positive energy, patience and an adaptability to different situations. Requirements: Relevant experience working with children with SEN. A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with diverse needs. Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the changing needs of students and the school environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues. Both part time and full time will be considered. This role would be to work during term time, with hours being 08:30 – 15:30. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
