Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Pay Rate: £90 – 120 Per Day
Location: Central Birmingham
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours: 8.30 – 15.30
Smart Education are working with a 3 form entry Primary School located in the heart of the West Midlands, located just outside the perimeter of the Birmingham ring road. This school are looking to appoint a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join them from as soon as possible for a 1:1 role that will run through to the end of the academic year 2025 initially.
The role will see the successful SEN TA taking on a 1:1 support role working with a challenging year 3 pupil who has recently received a statement for ASD. The pupil has a history of challenging behaviour, though this is more from frustration that any personality disorders.
The successful applicant will be a qualified SEN TA with Key Stage 2 and ASD experience who is passionate about supporting and working with pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds, who are looking to overcome their challenges. This SEN Teaching Assistant role will see you taking on working with this pupil for the remainder of the academic year initially. There is a high likelihood that a successful placement from now to the end of the academic year will result in the offer of continued support for this pupil for the duration of their schooling.

Job Requirements for this 1:1 SEN TA role:
* Must hold a level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
* Must hold a Valid Child DBS (Or be willing to get one)
* Must have a minimum of 6 months 1:1 SEN TA experience
* Patience, empathy and a commitment to serving the pupils you support to the best of your ability
* Clear understanding and commitment to safeguarding
* Strong communication and teamwork to work with the class teacher and general TA’s that support the class in the morning.
