Room Leader
Location: Ely
Salary: A£27,500 - A£29,120 per year
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours over 4.5 days or Monday to Friday, 45 hours over 5 days.

Each nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and encompasses a child-centred approach to play and learning. They adopt and work towards a creative curriculum, a passion for open-ended investigation, and positive outdoor experiences. Their aim is to create within each of their settings an outstanding place for children to be well cared for and to flourish within play and learning.
The Role
The Nursery is set in the centre of the Cathedral city of Ely, in close proximity to the river and surrounding parks. They have the capacity for 48 children split between three rooms: 0-2 years, 2-3 years, and 3-5 years. The nursery employs 17 full and part-time staff and is open from 8am - 6.00pm 52 weeks a year. They are closed for Public Holidays.
1. Hold accountability for the smooth running of the pre-school room.
2. Build positive and trusting relationships with children and outstanding parent partnerships.
3. Provide a safe, hygienic, caring, and stimulating environment for the children.
4. Ensure that the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual education and care provided to children is of the highest standard.
5. Plan, carry out, and record fun, inspirational, and educational play and learning opportunities.
Skills and Qualifications
1. A full and relevant Early Years & Childcare qualification at level 3 (Early Years Educator) is required for this role.
2. In some cases, English & Maths GCSE's at grade C or functional skills level 2 in English & Maths is required.
3. Experience of working with children is essential.
