An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the operational team within the division of Medical Specialities.
The post holder will support and lead the division, ensuring the delivery of key targets within the budgeted resources available. They will contribute to strategic and annual business planning for their services, including the engagement of senior medical, nursing, AHP colleagues and other staff, as required. They will also coordinate the planning, development and implementation of service improvement, capital and other projects. They will support clinical governance processes within their areas and assist Clinical colleagues in the management of risk.
The post will deputise for the Senior Operations Manager.
Main duties of the job
This post holder will be responsible for the operational management of all aspects of the division and across all sites in which the division runs services.
The post holder will work with senior clinical leaders and managers to drive and deliver excellent management leadership, support and capacity. They will ensure that effective management and delivery underpins the leadership of the directorate they manage and that the Senior Operations Manager is supported to ensure that leadership decisions are translated into transforming delivery of services.
The Operations Manager will work in partnership with the Senior Operations Manager to ensure the full engagement of all staff in the directorate in the delivery of the division’s strategy. The post holder will deputise for the Senior Operations Manager when required.
The post holder will participate in the silver on-call rota.

Qualifications
* Evidence of continuing personal development
* 1st degree or equivalent
Experience
* Significant senior operational management experience, in the NHS or equivalent
* Leading and managing change within a complex environment
* Strategic planning and project management
* Managing large and complex budgets
Skills and Knowledge
* Leadership of a multidisciplinary team and delivering to deadlines and within resources.
* Acute operational management experience in a complex healthcare organisation
* Management of staff
* Service planning and project management
* Broad understanding of the NHS and key policy issues which affect performance
* Aptitude to engage in constructive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to achieve success through partnership
