Horticultural & Agricultural Mechanic - PKC12364
£17.04 - £18.70 per hour
£31,984 - £35,100 per annum
Friarton Depot, Perth
Perth & Kinross Council is seeking a Horticultural & Agricultural Mechanic within Fleet Management.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the Councils fleet of plant & equipment is maintained to Perth & Kinross Council standards.
The plant is required to be serviced on a structured basis and this will be followed aligned with compliance and legislative guidance.
You will be part of a hardworking, supportive team who have a good sense of humour and we also offer a good working environment.
The workshop operates a shift system consisting of an early shift, back shift and weekend working one in three on a rotational basis. Therefore, it will be necessary for the successful candidate to participate in these working patterns.
Skills & Experience Required
Ideally you will be an experienced grounds / plant mechanic with a relevant industry qualification.
You will have the ability to work within a pressured environment and being able to meet your own and team deadlines is vital.
There is an expectation that shortlisted applicants will meet the requirements below:
* Time Served Horticultural or Agricultural Mechanic. Candidates near completion of this qualification may be considered.
* You must have City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 or N/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of certification. Candidates near completion of this qualification may be considered.
* You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
* Experience of identifying scheduled and unscheduled workloads.
* Knowledge of cost control techniques and estimating individual jobs.
* Experience of prioritising own workloads as the job demands.
* Experience in working within a pressured environment and meeting tight deadlines by prioritising own workloads.
