Protocol are working closely with a Further Education College based in Northamptonshire in their search for an experienced Estates Support Officer. They are looking for a dynamic, motivated and capable individual to join their dedicated estates team. This full time role will operate over either a 6am - 2pm or a 12pm - 8pm working pattern. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the College’s building stock, including plant, structures, and all ancillary equipment, ensuring they meet the high standards set by the College and comply with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and ensure the availability, cleanliness, and functionality of teaching facilities, including furniture, fixtures, and fittings, to provide a high-quality student experience. Perform minor repairs on-site, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaking taps, touching up paintwork, repairing door handles, and toilet cisterns. Escalate additional works and repairs to the helpdesk promptly. Ensure daily emptying of bins, sweeping debris within car parks and grounds, and litter picking throughout the day. Monitor the performance of outsourced cleaners and grounds staff. Conduct small ground works, such as repairing potholes and performing grounds maintenance as needed. Assist with furniture, equipment, and office moves as required. Qualifications: Proven experience in a similar handyman or caretaker role. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Physical ability to perform the duties required, including lifting and moving furniture and equipment.
