We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and driven sustainability manager who will help drive our sustainability goals both internally and externally and help deliver positive environmental actions for our clients both existing and new.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Part of Wasserman Team Earth Council & Committee your role is to assist in the delivery of Wasserman’s environmental sustainability strategy, taking a lead role particularly across the EMEA & APAC regions, sitting alongside the other environmental sustainability members across the group.
Based in our London office you will work closely with the central marketing team, the Vice President, Social Impact & Sustainability, the Sustainability Managers in our Wasserman Live team and Wasserman’s External Sustainability Consultant to drive forward Wasserman’s environmental sustainability efforts. As part of our responsible business mindset this role will also collaborate with Wasserman’s Inclusion & Impact team on all social impact initiatives that have an environmental sustainability lens.
This role includes:
1. Play a lead role in championing Environmental Sustainability across the group at all levels.
2. Engage Team Earth Office Champions & the Team Earth Committee to deliver across the core strategy workstreams; core business commitments, client best practice and industry impacts.
3. Educating and engaging with Wasserman colleagues on the topic of environmental sustainability helping increase knowledge around environmental sustainability.
4. Working with our account management and business development teams with current and prospective clients to provide subject matter expertise on all things environmental sustainability.
5. Helping identify and implement operational change to reduce core business carbon emissions be that through improving supply chain/procurement processes, identifying reduction opportunities within office spaces or across our fleets or other general day to day business activity.
6. Assist in recording and analysing emissions data, through our carbon reporting tool and present recommendations for future improvements based on the data.
7. Help develop and continually improve Wasserman’s Annual Sustainability Report and Team Earth Playbook and Strategy.
8. Support Wasserman’s consultant where needed on key environmental sustainability reporting across Scope 1, 2 & 3 such as SECR, TCFD, ESOS CDP, Ecovadis etc.
9. You will be a first point of contact for environmental sustainability in EMEA & APAC – both internally with colleagues and externally with clients.
10. Produce client case studies and comms based on Wasserman projects.
11. Provide support for ISO’s 14001 & 20121.
12. Material and supplier environmental product analysis.
THE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE YOU NEED
1. Educated in or having a significant interest in sustainable business, sustainable development, environmental science, sustainability in sport or similarly relevant.
2. Relevant professional experience in an environmental sustainability role.
3. Proficient with data collection, analysis and visualisation with experience in carbon emissions tracking and reporting.
4. Passionate and up to date around all things environmental sustainability and equity.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience of interacting with stakeholders at all levels. The ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders is paramount.
6. Proven ability to project manage and work autonomously when leading projects and deliver commitments on time in a flexible and fast-paced environment.
7. A collaborative team player who isn’t afraid to challenge convention.
Preferable but not mandatory
1. Experience in implementing sustainability initiatives at activations and events.
