Area Sales Manager Cross Lane, Bradford About Us Gardner Denver Transport provides equipment which efficiently transfers bulk material from road tankers and other vehicles. As global requirements advanced, we started developing into wider applications and we now produce equipment for alternative markets including specialised transport, on-board power systems for operating/powering other equipment, and bespoke electric compressor packages for e-mobility vehicles. Within our Bradford facility we design, machine, assembly and install our entire Bulk Powder and Liquid Compressor range for Road Transport Vehicles. Providing our customers with the whole product life cycle is number one for us and with our mobile service engineers we offer from concept design, manufacture, installation and aftermarket support. Job Summary Achieves sales objectives within sales territory for liquid ring vacuum pumps and compressors, including both new equipment, spare parts and repair services. Pursues sales leads, promote products, conclude orders, arrange internal sales logistics. Based from home location / Winsford plant the position will involve travelling to existing, former and new customers. To generate sales of the company's products and services at targeted pricing, margins and volumes, whilst maintaining high levels of customer focus, service and research. Sales territory will be UK / Ireland (Optional Scandinavia / Finland / Iceland and Baltics). Responsibilities - Sales Calls: Promotes the sale of company products through distributor network, direct to customers, and other channels as appropriate. Uses technical knowledge to support and build sales. Identifies, develops and maintains direct sales to end users. - Technical Sales: Utilizes technical knowledge to assess the potential application of company products, offering solutions that meet customer needs. Researches and presents information showing potential customers the cost benefit of utilizing GD Nash products. - Business Plans: Along with Sales Representatives, develops business plans and sales targets for assigned area. - Training: Provides technical training to distributors and customers regarding products, programs, systems, etc. Communicates customer feedback into future product developments. - Forecasts/Budgets: Gives input to forecasts & budgets and is required to meet budget targets. - Contribute to the Commercial department annual budgets in line with operational plans. - Assist in the Generation annual sales forecast in line with Group timetables, to include an analysis of product by sector or segment and associated costs, margins and revenues. - Actively develop new customers and new business opportunities. - Inform management of changes and potential with regard to revenue and margin within the business. - Preparation of complete quotes in cooperation with the respective specialized departments and sub-suppliers. - Preparation and update of sales documentation and presentations - Individual Project control, order negotiations and preparations - Cooperation at trade shows, training and sales meetings. Independent participation and realization of trade shows - Carry out Market Research and competitor analysis - Cooperation with development projects - Responsibility for product applications - Assist in the Generation of a three-month rolling forecast to enable a manufacturing production schedule to be accurately maintained. - Actively liase with all departments within the business to ensure the efficient and effective operation of all business processes. - Maintain regular contact with the customer base, particularly with regard to marketing and commercial issues, to act as host during relevant visits. - To use Sales Force CRM and SAP. - Ensure that all credit controls are maintained at all times. MEASUREMENTS: This position: - Directly supervises 1 employees. - Indirectly manages 0 employees - Controls an annual budget of 2 - 3 million. QUALIFICATIONS: Experience required: Ability to quickly and easily develop excellent relationships with team members, customers, vendors, distributors. Must rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity is expected. Education/Training Required: Degree, HND, HNC in mechanical or process engineering.
