Job summary
Velindre nursing services have exciting opportunities for dynamic Band 5 Staff Nurses with a flexible approach to work wishing to expand their knowledge and experience in Oncology, both in our inpatient setting and SACT day case Units. Successful candidates will have full supported training period to gain the skills required to deliver high quality care to oncology patients. They will complete the UKONs SACT passport that is a recognised accredited competency. Velindre Cancer Centre have a successful Band 5-6 development programme that has provided training and development for aspiring leaders of the future ensuring that the ethos supports a positive learning culture.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, participating and contributing to the wider clinical governance agenda including service developments and flexible working to meet the needs of patients. Managing a case load of patients receiving a range of Oncology treatments and management of the associated complications
There is also a requirement to supervise junior staff and teach qualified and unqualified staff including basic and post basic students.
Please be aware that you may be required to cover in Chemotherapy Service, Outpatients or Inpatients.
