Our client is recruiting for a Commissioning Engineer in the Water Sector.
This role is a mix of homeworking, site and office based. The ideal candidate would be located in the Midlands to cover either the West (Shropshire, Birmingham, etc.) or East (Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, etc.) of the patch. About the role
This role will provide Testing and Commissioning services working across multiple contracts on both clean water and sewage treatment across non-infra and interfacing with partnering infra projects. You will deliver pre-commissioning and inspection phases whilst ensuring all commissioning activities are delivered in line with the programme, quality, and budget, including delivery of on-site commissioning of mechanical, electrical, control systems, and automated processes within the Water Treatment Industry.
What does this role involve?
1. Production of all necessary commissioning documentation including commissioning plan, sequence, and test records, along with input into Quality planning (EICA related) and ITP's.
2. Reviewing and signing off commissioning RAMs and commissioning documentation.
3. Maintaining and updating/feedback into programme functions to ensure the projects are moving forward whilst recording events which would need further commercial support/assistance.
4. Chair commissioning meetings with clients and subcontractors as required, attendance of FAT, iFAT, and subcontractor inspections.
5. Coordinating with client and subcontractors regarding H&S inspections/audits surrounding commissioning activities.
6. Coordinating the commissioning activities to ensure the program is maintained whilst balancing the functions of operational sites.
7. Lead and record Worksite readiness reviews in advance of commencing commissioning activities on site.
8. Working with the Project/Site/Operations manager to ensure the related activities required for commissioning are being undertaken in line with the QA/ITP and maintaining programme.
Experience and Qualifications:
1. Proven commissioning experience and knowledge on the following:
* Process knowledge around treatment, water movement, and chemical dosing will be required.
* Hydraulic understanding of; water distribution, boosted systems, and pumped dosing systems will be required.
* For electrical roles (commissioning and project), a good grasp of electrical fundamentals, fault finding, and safety-related practices, along with a qualification suitable to act as an appointed person.
* All roles will require familiarity and understanding of Control systems (PLC, MCC, etc.), valves (both manual and actuated), instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature), and quality instrumentation. Ancillary packages include screens, pump sets, mixers, dosing equipment, storage tanks and vessels, pressure filters, surge systems, etc., all typically found on clean and dirty treatment sites throughout the UK, along with knowledge of DWI, WIMES, and WRAS.
* Use of Microsoft packages is required; a more than basic level of Word, Excel, and Project are required.
* Role dependent, there will be the requirement to stay and work away.
* EUSR - Water Hygiene.
* CSCS - Managers Card (Black/Silver or professional Qualification).
* SMSTS - or recognized accepted equivalent (example: IOSH Managing safely).
