Reporting to the Deputy Head of Medical Engineering you will be responsible for providing an efficient and cost effective maintenance service for medical and electronic equipment throughout the Trust. The range of equipment involved includes ultrasound, anaesthetic machines, life support systems, patient monitoring, communications systems, theatre and pathology equipment. Total cost of equipment assets in excess of £50 million, spread out over health centres, clinics and hospitals covering over half a million people from Tyneside to the Scottish Borders and to Hexham and Haltwhistle in the west of the county. You will plan your own workload and ensure that all KPIs are met. You must have a flexible approach to working hours to meet the demands of the service and be able to participate in a formal on call rota. The post is based at The Northumbria Hospital but you will be required to work at any of the Trust sites as required. As such, you must have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle to carry out your duties.
