Morgan Hunt is working with a leading Further Education College based in West Midlands. We are recruiting for an experienced Games Design Lecturer to teach part time.
Role: Games Design Lecturer
Location: West Midlands
Job Type: Temporary
Hours: Part time
Key Responsibilities:
1. Competency using 3D modelling software: 3DS Max, MudBox etc.
2. Understanding of 3D modelling workflows for games - assets, modularity, characters, environments.
3. Texturing for games and understanding of PBR workflow - Adobe Photoshop & Substance Painter.
4. Lighting and rendering for games.
5. 3D Sculpting (Autodesk MudBox).
6. Knowledge of game engines and blueprint workflows in UE5.
7. Understanding of level design theories and workflows.
8. Research techniques.
9. Contextual studies (subject specialist essay/academic writing).
10. File/folder management/repositories, file naming conventions, versioning.
11. Esports (from a Games Lecturer perspective).
12. Branding/graphics design/marketing/streaming overlays/team clothing design.
13. Team management for the cross-school/college leagues that are run every year.
14. Playthroughs, content creation, league-game training and development.
What we're looking for:
1. Qualified teacher e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE or DTLLS or CET, or a commitment to obtain the required teaching qualification/or DELTA.
2. Relevant experience within the FE and/or community learning sector.
3. Evidence that you are able to apply effective approaches to teaching to more than one level and target audience.
4. Ability to plan and deliver quality teaching across identified modules.
5. Right to Work & Enhanced Adult/Child DBS dated within the last 12 months or on the update service.
