We are currently recruiting for a workshop plant engineer covering Birmingham and surrounding areas for a leading plant hire company in the UK who provide top-of-the-range, premium-condition excavators for hire. The company operates a fleet of advanced Hitachi excavators, all under 12 months old, ranging from 3 to 35 tons, ensuring maximum versatility for various projects. The ideal candidate will come with relevant qualifications in the plant industry and a past work experience working on a variety of heavy plant including excavators.
Workshop Plant Engineer - Birmingham Job Overview
* Carry out regular maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a range of plant equipment.
* Identify and fix faults while ensuring all machinery meets required safety standards.
* Perform inspections and maintain detailed records of completed work.
* Work independently or collaboratively to complete tasks efficiently.
* Follow all Health & Safety guidelines, maintaining safe working practices at all times.
Workshop Plant Engineer - Birmingham Job Requirements
* Relevant qualifications in the plant industry; NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent would be advantageous.
* Proven experience in plant machinery maintenance and repairs.
* Full, valid UK driving licence.
* CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) would be advantageous but not essential.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Commutable distance to the depot based in Birmingham.
* Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage time effectively.
Workshop Plant Engineer - Birmingham Salary & Benefits
* 36,000- 40,000 basic salary dependant on experience.
* Monday-Friday 45-hour week.
* Overtime available.
