Position: Presentation (PowerPoint) Specialist / Presentation Designer
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Presentation Specialist to join the Brand & Design team at the Global Office.
Our Brand & Design team is responsible for the strategy and management of the BDO brand globally and provides creative services for colleagues of the Global Office. The team is part of the Corporate Affairs department, which also comprises external communications, network operations, marketing, events and internal communications.
The ideal candidate will be an expert in using Microsoft PowerPoint to create visually stunning and impactful presentations. This role demands a keen eye for design, strong attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate complex information in a clear and engaging manner. The Global Office uses presentations on a daily basis to communicate on various topics and to varied audiences. We are looking for someone who can help us create templates for colleagues to use in member firms, to support our leaders with their sensitive presentation needs, to produce templates and decks for large corporate events. We get many design requests daily and we also want this person to support us with various other graphic design requests.
Key accountabilities
* Create and design presentations: Develop high-quality presentations, templates and style guides that convey the intended message and meet the needs of various stakeholders.
* Collaborate with team members: Work closely with senior leaders, project owners, Corporate Affairs colleagues, and other team members to understand presentation requirements and objectives.
* Ensure consistency: Maintain brand consistency across all presentations, adhering to our corporate visual identity guidelines.
* Enhance visual appeal: Utilise PowerPoint's advanced features to incorporate animations, transitions, and multimedia elements to enhance the overall visual appeal.
* Create visual impact: design or source relevant graphics icons and illustrations to complement the presentation’s content and engage the audience. Create clear and effective data visualisation, such as charts, graphs, and graphic devices to illustrate specific points.
* Edit and revise: Make necessary edits and revisions based on feedback to ensure the final presentation meets the highest standards of quality. Review content for errors in grammar, punctuation and layout.
* Attention to detail: Strong attention to detail is essential to ensure that presentations are error-free and visually polished.
* Stay updated: Keep abreast of the latest trends and best practices in presentation design and PowerPoint functionalities.
Qualifications and Experience
* Software proficiency: Expert-level knowledge and experience in using Microsoft PowerPoint for creating complex and dynamic presentations other presentation software such as Apple Keynote and Google Slides can be advantageous as well as graphic design software (Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud)
* Design skills: Strong graphic design skills with a keen eye for layout, typography, and colour.
* Creativity: Ability to think creatively and propose innovative design solutions that enhance communication effectiveness. Skilled at finding creative solutions under tight deadlines, and adaptable to feedback and changing priorities.
* Data Visualisation: Knowledge of what makes communications effective, including great data visualisation.
* Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas and information and an ability to collaborate with colleagues of all levels.
* High work ethics and self-motivation: while you’ll be part of the team, you might not be located where the rest of the team is. You are proactive, have high work ethics and are able to work independently.
* Detail-oriented: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and visual integrity of presentations.
* Time Management: Strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a presentation design or graphic design role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in PowerPoint. Experience with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
