North Level District Internal Drainage Board EXCAVATOR DRIVER An opportunity has arisen for a 360 Excavator Driver to join the North Level District Internal Drainage Board. You will become part of the Board’s operational team based at Thorney and will be responsible for operating the Boards long reach excavator to undertake channel maintenance activities.You will be required to operate efficiently and safely to undertake the work instructed by the Works Supervisor. Applicants need to be enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated with the ability to work both alone and as a team member. Remuneration: Hours - 38 hours per week plus overtime during weed cutting seasonBasic rate of pay - £15.72 per hourOvertime - 1.5 times the hourly rateVehicle - A van will be provided for work use onlyTravel time paid to and from siteOption to join the LGPS pension schemeYou will be expected to work overtime (up to an additional 34 hours) during the cutting season (August to November). There will also be opportunities for overtime during the remainder of the year depending on work schedules. Duties:Operating the Boards long reach EC250 excavator, works to include: • Weed basket channel maintenance• Piling work• Culvert construction• Use of hydraulic tree shears• Bank reforming• DredgingThe above list is not exhaustive and may vary from time to time.
