Ergonomics Specialist

My client has a requirement for an ergonomics specialist to join their team to assist with increasing efficiency and minimizing the negative impact of the work packages on both the human and the manufacturing systems.
The role:
1. Influence product development in line with design for manufacture principles.
2. Develop and drive strategic plans for ergonomic risk reduction interventions.
3. Identify work-related ergonomic risk factors at the workplace and propose solutions to mitigate risks.
4. Anticipate risk, applying theory, principles, data, and methods to enable design that will optimize human health and overall production system efficiency.
5. Apply national laws, regulations, and standards related to Human Factors and Ergonomics.
6. Support Human Factor improvement projects with different stakeholders (Quality, H&S, design, production, manufacturing engineering).
7. Define how to integrate a User-Centered Design process, with a Human Factors systemic and systematic analysis.
Required skills:
You will have the following skills and experience:
1. Educated to degree (or higher) level in Ergonomics/Human Factors (delivered by an accredited CIEHF higher education body).
2. Accredited to (or demonstrated working towards) Registered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) or equivalent.
3. Knowledge in physiology (including work analysis, knowledge on human cognitive behaviors).
4. Understanding of cognitive sciences and applied psychology as cognitive processes (cognitive workload, reasoning, learning, human error, work analysis).
5. Good background in human factor sciences, work physiology, biomechanics, and cognition.
6. Experience in identifying ergonomics risk factors in the workplace (e.g., process, workflow, work organization); proposing risk mitigation solutions to management.
7. Experience in all aspects of ergonomics including assessment of working methods, applicable standards, risk ratings, assessment tools, technical report writing, and development of technical solutions.
8. Experience in anticipating risk (e.g., new designs & processes).
9. Knowledge and/or experience of the relevant regulations and standards relating to the workplace.
10. Knowledge on all aspects of ergonomics, both existing and future developments.
11. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
