We at Work Lyf Group are seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental Lead to join our well-established client's QHSE team. Our ideal candidate will have experience working within a rail safety critical environment, be knowledgeable on the relevant legal and industry responsibilities and standards and be able to demonstrate a genuine passion for improving HSE standards, knowledge and performance.
The role:
1. Providing expert advice and support to staff at all levels of the business.
2. Interpretation of relevant legislation, codes of practice, guidance etc and relaying these in an appropriate manner to relevant staff. Ensuring that all policies and practices are regularly reviewed and updated as required.
3. Supporting operational teams with the production of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
4. Ensure all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements are implemented.
5. Undertaking of occupational exposure monitoring, assisting external providers as required. Provide advice on risk management and health surveillance.
6. Assist with the development and undertaking of HSE Audits and Assessment Plans.
7. Proactively identifying key-areas of non-compliance and improvement and take action alongside site management for improvement.
8. Develop and deliver HSE training and identify suitable external providers as required.
9. Take the lead on coordinating and facilitating safety committee meetings.
10. Accurate production and reporting of metrics.
11. Deputise for QHSE Manager as and when required.
Qualifications
1. Minimum level 3 Health & Safety qualification eg NEBOSH National Certificate.
2. Minimum TechIOSH, preferred CertIOSH or equivalent.
3. Full UK driving licence.
4. Desirable but not essential:

7. Noise risk assessments.
8. HAVS assessments.
9. COSHH risk assessments.
10. Environmental management.
11. Quality management.
