We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join an established team on a permanent basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to play a crucial role in the design and development of railway mechanical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Carry out design calculations using Hevacomp/Bentley Energy Simulator
2. Prepare comprehensive design plans and collaborate with the CAD team
3. Develop feasibility studies and cost estimates
4. Perform detailed surveys for equipment replacement needs
5. Conduct condition surveys and prepare detailed reports
6. Participate in design team meetings
7. Contribute to the creation of energy and carbon impact assessments
8. Support in enhancing and refining the client brief
9. Draft NBS specifications, equipment schedules, and tender documentation
10. Evaluate and provide feedback on tender prices and quality submissions
11. Lead and participate in pre-start and site progress meetings
12. Conduct site inspections for quality control and project progress
13. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members
14. Support the maintenance of project QMS (Quality Management System) records
Job Requirements:
1. Degree qualification in an Engineering subject
2. Experience in mechanical engineering
3. Knowledge of CDM regulations and undertaking safety-related risk assessments
4. Proficiency in preparing design calculations using Hevacomp/Bentley Energy Simulator
5. Strong skills in preparing detailed designs and coordinating with CAD teams
