Shift Schedule: As required by the agreed contract. This role may require you to work Sunday to Thursday or Monday to Friday (days or nights with some weekend works).
Main Purpose of the role:
We are seeking PWT Supervisors to join our London Underground (LU) Operations Team to assist in smooth running of LU networks, managing a team or multiple teams of staff/sub-contract staff undertaking various complexities of track maintenance or renewal works for TDU.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
As a PWT Supervisor you will:
• Be responsible for various work groups under your control with other PWTs running smaller work groups and the operatives within those work groups.
• Direct work activities to the work groups ensuring you follow the correct procedures for protecting workers on the track.
• Be responsible for all required shift and work site reporting for your work group activities for that shift.
• Ensure that all Protection duty requirements are effectively discharged in accordance with Client requirements.
• Give clear direction to PWTs for work activities for smaller work groups.
• Show respect and leadership for all aspects of works by all parties within your work site.
• Be responsible for the overall programme of works for all work groups within your work site and have a good knowledge of applicable health & safety requirements.
• Cascade safety requirements out to all PWTs working within your work site, ensuring that their work groups adopt and abide strictly to all such requirements.
• Ensure that the works undertaken by your work PWTs are in line with all site documentation such as work instructions, method statements, risk assessments and company and client standards.
• Have overall responsibility for all aspects of site management & control within your work site.
• Manage and distribute work activities and responsibilities to other PWTs and external work parties such as S&T, electrification and welding.
• Manage the distribution and control of materials, plant and tools.
• Have full responsibility to ensure your teams are trained & mentored and that training attendance and standards are met at all times.
• Hold and attend meetings with clients and own management.
• Brief safety communications to work groups.
• Brief and cascade information to other PWTs managing smaller work groups.
• Provide detailed reporting on a shift basis to clients and own management.
• Start & End of shift briefings and feedback to work groups, clients and own management.
• Cascade company policies and procedures ensuring compliance.
• Carry out fact finding interviews, compiling statements & reports.
• Monitor and report on staff performance.
• Carry out one to one briefings, team talks, tool box talks & PGIs.
• Monitor and report on all licencing and certification e.g. team training.
• Monitor and report on staff carrying out key activities i.e. gauging, disc saw, band saw etc.
• Work closely with Handback to ensure all works are inspected and handed back on time, with all documentation fully completed.
• Provide protection and a safe system of work for staff working on or about the railway infrastructure.
• Handle work activity allocation to work groups.

Requirement and Essential Qualifications:
• Extensive experience in managing a team of people delivering railway maintenance and renewals work within the LUL/TFL infrastructure.
• Good understanding and ability to comply with LUL/TFL processes, standards, procedures and instructions.
• Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal, written and listening) skills, that will support the delivery of your duties and able to clearly explain tasks and inspire others with varying backgrounds.
• Relevant PWT licencing.
• Site Person in Charge (SPC) licensing.
• Manual Handling.
• Worksite Safety Induction (WSI).
• Small Tools.
• LU Medical.
• Basic Track Awareness (BTA).
