An excellent and exciting opportunity has arisen for Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) Developer to join the Management Information System (M.I.S.) team within the Performance and Improvement function.
The Role:
An integral role within the Management Information System team within Rolls-Royce Submarines. This is a key role interfacing with the customer to design data model solutions that provide business reporting opportunities across the entire Rolls-Royce Submarines organisation. The Management Information Systems team ensures the business has robust, accurate and timely data which is essential to enable key decision making to improve business performance.

What you’ll be doing:
* Interpretation of User requirements into technical requirements
* Complete robust ETL development tasks in line with Customer requirements
* Production of technical and unit test documentation in line with existing development standards
* Completion of peer reviews, supporting ETL team members
* Completion of continuous improvement activities to drive forward MIS ETL performance and stability
Who we are looking for:
* Strong understanding of Submarines executive systems; i.e. SAP, P6, ARM, knowledge of underlying data structure is desirable
* Experience in operation of ETL methodologies and development lifecycle is desirable
* Strong ‘data’ mindset – attention to detail, ability to work with complex data sets and devise suitable solutions to ETL design challenges
* Experience in the coordination of multiple project partners, internal and external
* Ability to express technical concepts and issues into user friendly language
* Ability to enhance and propose improvements to Customer requirements based on existing and future MIS technical capability
* Experience in use of Informatica Developer or Power Centre is essential
* Experience in use of SQL Server Management Studio is essential
* Knowledge of automated MS Excel reporting, Powershell scripting and VBA is preferred
* Experience in data warehouse and star schema design is preferred
