We are looking for patient, adaptable and compassionate SEMH teaching assistants to support students who may require time away from mainstream education. In this role, you will not only help students grow academically, but also support their emotional and social development. Depending on your strengths and experience, you may work across both primary and secondary sites. Your responsibilities: Provide 1:1 tailored support to students with social, emotional and behavioural needs Assist students in engaging with core subjects and making academic progress Accompany students on off-site activities (e.g outdoor adventures, visits to local attractions) Support students in vocational learning (e.g construction, hairdressing) Help build students’ confidence and self-esteem, creating a positive learning environment Facilitate a smooth transition back into mainstream education when appropriate What we’re looking for: Patience, resilience and empathy are essential qualities for managing challenging behaviours Confident in building relationships with students and supporting their individual journeys Experience working with children and managing behaviour A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (you may need to transport students for off-site activities If you’re passionate about helping young people thrive and want to be part of a dedicated team, apply today Exceptional candidates may have the opportunity to secure a permanent role.
