The Opportunity
Our client is a leading Engineering Consultancy who specialise in the petrochemical sector. Due to this they are currently searching for a Lead/Principal Instrumentation Engineer to join their team and take the lead in one of their major projects.
Operating on a Hybrid basis (3 days in, 2 from home), you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to produce designs for medium/large scale infrastructure projects in the chemical or petrochemical sector. You will be communicating across multi-disciplined teams to ensure the project is completed on time and to budget.
Projects and proposals are for process plants and facilities across multiple sectors, including Chemical, Petrochemical, Power and Energy Transition and New Energy sectors.
Contract: This role has been deemed inside IR35
Duration: 12-months
Rate: £50.00 – £55.00/hr PAYE
You will be based out of our clients’ offices in Manchester. There may be the occasional requirement to visit client sites.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
You will be working across a project on a well-established Master Service Agreement.
Your work will be across the full project lifecycle, including conceptual studies, FEED and detailed design phases.
Project work will include the development of Control & Instrument Engineering deliverables as required on a project-by-project basis.
Lead a team of instrumentation engineers ensuring deliverables are completed on time.
Provide technical assistance when required.
Communicate effectively across multiple teams across the company
Communicate effectively with the client, and project management team.
Carry out occasional site visits as required.
Budget and schedule management/control and reporting.You will have the following qualifications & experience
Degree qualified for the related discipline.
Have or work towards Chartered Engineer status as a Member of the Institute of Measurement and Control (IMC) or Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
Experience in Instrument Engineering Design on Medium / Large capital projects from concept to start-up.
Extensive experience in Chemical, Petrochemical and Oil & Gas industries.
Very good proactive communicator.It’s great if you also have the following
Competent to interface with other Disciplines.
Competent in project execution using selected design tools and techniques.
Competent in design, safety, and constructability.
Competent in Specification, technical bid analysis, and requisitioning of Field Instrumentation and Analysers.
Competent in the application, specification, and requisitioning of DCS, PLC, and SIS systems, with experience in the system's full lifecycle.
Competent in the Specification / Design / Implementation of Hazardous Area Instrumentation (ATEX).
Competent in Instrumentation and Control requirements for Mechanical packages.
Competent in P&ID development.
Competent in the Sizing of flow devices/control valves/relief devices.Get in touch now
