We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Manager to join our ‘Outstanding’ NHS Trust.
You’ll play a key role in shaping our digital future. Overseeing all infrastructure operations work you will:
1. Manage critical IT services that support patient care & staff operations
2. Lead and develop a multidisciplinary IT Infrastructure team, overseeing cloud-based & on-premise services, networks, and cybersecurity
3. Lead continuous service improvement programmes, working across the IT function to enhance the service enabled by technology
4. Work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels to ensure objectives are achieved, improve service efficiency & align IT solutions with business objectives

You’ll use your hands-on technical expertise and be fully involved throughout transition and service delivery.
This is a full-time position based in Reading, with remote working options available. Our service hours are Monday to Friday, 9-5pm with some flexibility to work other locations and hours on occasion.
Main duties of the job
1. Managing the delivery of highly available, resilient and secure IT services
2. Leading and developing a highly skilled multidisciplinary IT Infrastructure Team.
3. Developing and establishing IT infrastructure standards and procedures seeking formal independent external accreditation where possible.
4. The analysis, design, deployment, and operations of IT Server-side software, hardware, networking and cloud computing systems supporting the business.
5. Management and ownership of the Trust's WAN, LAN, Firewalls and Wireless Access Points, ensuring its security, availability, and optimal performance.
6. Management and ownership of the organisation's Azure tenant, ensuring its security, availability, and optimal performance.

Person specification
Education/Qualifications/Training
* Qualified to master’s degree level in a subject relevant to the role or equivalent experience gained through the management of Digital staff and services supported by qualifications in server and network deployment, support and management.
* Formal Microsoft qualifications in a subject relevant to the role or equivalent specialist IT training (e.g. Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, VMWare, firewall management, SCCM)
Continuous Professional Development
* Evidence of CPD related to the role.
Previous Experience
* Team management / resource management experience – delegating daily activities, work streams and projects to team members and monitoring delivery against plans
* Prioritisation of resource in a landscape of changing requirements to ensure maximum productivity from the team in the delivery business and clinical infrastructures.
* Experience of managing and delivering a mission critical IT service.
* In-depth specialist knowledge of Digital systems and procedures including cyber security management, data centre management, performance monitoring of foundation technologies, network and firewall design.
* Experience of building and configuring virtual and physical servers. Email services, databases, web servers, storage area network equipment.
