What skills and experience we're looking for
• We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head of Citizenship to lead our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons to students, fostering an understanding of citizenship, democracy, human rights, and key issues in society. The role will involve teaching at KS3 and KS4 and will require an ability to inspire students to think critically, reflect on their role in society, and actively participate in their communities.
• Qualified Teacher Status
• A degree or equivalent in Citizenship, social sciences or a related field
• Good understanding of the GCSE Citizenship syllabus.
• Experience of successfully teaching Citizenship at KS3 and KS4
• Proven record of raising standards of attainment and Achievement
• Experience of making accurate and productive use of Assessment
• Competently using ICT to support teaching and wider professional activities
• Good interpersonal skills: ability to work constructively with colleagues, students and parents
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Resilience and ability to work under pressure
• Ability to communicate concisely to a variety of audiences
• A commitment to the Faculty and support for the school ethos
• Good classroom management skills
• Ability to motivate students of all abilities
• Work flexibly as the workload demands
• Excellent attendance record (*)
