We are currently recruiting for a Line Engineering Lead to drive operational excellence at Lincoln Manufacturing site.
This role will operate on a days-based contract working Monday - Friday, supporting the line/area team, working on equipment maintenance and reliability plans and driving performance improvement.
Responsibilities
The role of Line Engineering Lead will be supporting the Line Operations Managers and Shift Management Teams, leading the area maintenance agenda to ensure maximum efficiency and optimal operation of the equipment and to ensure smooth interface between the Shift Area Team and the site Maintenance Support Function. The roles will be responsible for reliability, maintenance, and improvement engineering for a specified area of the manufacturing operation.
Within Lincoln, there will be two Line Engineering Leads, each aligned to an area of responsibility. One area being the Pellet Plant, the other being Process, Primary, and Multipack.
Main accountabilities:
1. Role model high standards, complying with safety standards, all the time.
2. Demonstrating high good manufacturing practice (GMP) / housekeeping standards.
3. Making decisions in a way to sustain the foundation.
4. Leading the team - managing and inspiring employee performance and career direction and driving employee retention and commitment.
5. Building and leading a strong team to perform at peak, driving accountability and developing the team's ability to deliver the results on a 7-day/24-hour basis.
6. Ensure maintenance tasks are planned, organized, and executed with the least effort and best cost.
7. To transfer knowledge to the team and to ensure that proper level of skills and qualifications successfully deploy the loss elimination skills needed for the line to deliver the line and team goals.
8. To provide coaching and teaching of the maintenance system processes to the ZO, MT, and OTL team and ensure that systems and processes are followed correctly to ensure accurate records and sustainability of the maintenance system.
9. Support the planning and scheduling of maintenance work; regularly review plans against the production requirements and activities to make best use of all available time to maximize maintenance efficiency.
10. Ensure all equipment design change proposals are reviewed, relevant stakeholders are involved, and the appropriate change management systems are followed.
11. Own the RCA process for the area/line; support the Line Operations Manager through the robust application of RCA processes and ensure that all loss attributable to maintenance is fed back through the maintenance management system to ensure that changes are made to prevent future losses.
12. Identify loss and improvement opportunities to eliminate future loss.
13. Champion and lead the continuous improvement processes.
Qualifications
1. Technical Engineering experience in a fast-paced environment.
2. First line leadership experience and demonstrated leadership in the areas of engineering/operations, safety, and quality.
3. Great communication, influencing, analytical skills, and effective stakeholder management.
4. Proven experience in continuous improvement.
5. Familiarity with structured problem-solving tools.
6. Flexible, 'can do,' attitude to role and duties.
7. Results driven and understands the link between action and results.
8. Excellent communicator with individuals at all levels.
9. Ability to influence upwards and across in the organisation.
10. Good IT and presentation skills.
11. Able to prioritise.
