The Role
As a 3rd Line Support Engineer, you will play a critical role within the Service Desk team, acting as a technical escalation point while also being heavily involved in on-site project work. Working closely with the Technical Implementation and Delivery team, you’ll help design, deliver, and implement new IT solutions for clients. This is a hybrid role that allows you to combine hands-on problem-solving with strategic, project-based work.
Key Responsibilities
Providing 3rd Line support for complex technical issues escalated from the Service Desk.
Implementing and delivering IT solutions, both remotely and on-site, as part of client projects.
Collaborating with the Technical Implementation and Delivery team to design and execute technical solutions.
Supporting and maintaining client infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
Engaging directly with clients to troubleshoot and resolve advanced IT issues, providing an exceptional customer experience.
Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and contributing to the continuous improvement of IT services.
Skills and Experience Required
Proven experience in a 3rd Line Support Engineer role, ideally within an MSP environment.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and Office 365.
Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
Proficiency with networking principles and tools, including firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs.
Knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery strategies.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a client-focused mindset.
