We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated and committed individuals, with the confidence and skills to establish a quick rapport with patients. Ideally, candidates should have previous experience in phlebotomy and general treatment room duties. The role has potential to expand to include additional duties to support the Practice Nursing team.
The post holder will be required to work across our 3 sites. The successful candidate(s) can be either full-time or part-time; however, part-time workers are still required to undertake a full working day.
Typical working day is: 8.00 am - 6.30 pm.
Salary - starting pay will be dependent on experience.

Main duties of the job
Working under the direct supervision of the Nurse Team Lead and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

We are a GP training practice and also have learners in a number of disciplines and at different stages (including medical students, nursing students, advanced clinical practitioners, and apprentices).
Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities may include some or the entire list below depending on training and assessment:
* ECG recording
* Twenty-four hour BP monitoring and seven-day blood pressure protocol
* Minor dressings under direction of PN
* Administration of flu under PSD
* Removal of sutures and clips
* LTC health checks and hypertension monitoring
* Mental health and learning disability reviews
* Diabetic foot examinations
* Warfarin monitoring under supervision of NMP
* Data entry in all templates including INR Star
* Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses
* Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
* Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
* Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
* Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
* Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients' health and well-being
* Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
* Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Education to GCSE level or equivalent, including English or Maths
* Qualified as a Nursing Associate
Knowledge and Skills
* Good standard of English speaking and writing
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Able to accurately record information within a computer system
* Ability to provide quality of care
* Experience of dealing with the general public
* Previous experience with EMIS
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
