Assistant People Services Advisor - Band: 4
An exciting temporary opportunity has arisen as part of the Compliance and Change team within People Services. The successful applicant will support the team by providing initial advice and guidance on queries, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures and best practice in all employee groups through either face to face contact, phone, email or in writing. Individuals should have a relevant NVQ level 4/diploma level (or equivalent) or relevant experience to NVQ level 4, as well as experience working within an administrative role or working within a team/providing a service to customers. They should have an understanding of People Services policies and procedures and the ability to work on and use their own initiative, prioritise work and work accurately to multiple deadlines.
This is a fixed term appointment/secondment opportunity considered until approx June 2025 to cover Maternity Leave.
Main duties of the job
The People Services Assistant Advisor will support the People Services Compliance and Change team by providing initial advice and guidance on People Services queries, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures and best practice. Initial advice will cover all agreed People Services policies and procedures and terms and conditions of employment and all employee groups through either face to face contact, phone, email or in writing.
The post holder will work in close liaison with members of the wider People Services and OD team in order to ensure continuity and provide cover for colleagues as appropriate, e.g. Recruitment, ESR.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Relevant NVQ level 4/diploma level (or equivalent) or relevant experience to NVQ level 4
* Commitment to undertake and complete relevant formal HR qualification
* Essential IT skills (EITS) or equivalent
Experience
* Experience working within an administrative role
* Working within a team/providing a service to customers
* Production of accurate basic statistics
* Working with and managing confidential data and sensitive information
* Experience of working in the NHS
* Previous experience of working in a People Services environment
Knowledge
* In-depth knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages
* Understanding of admin procedures
* Understanding of People Services policies and procedures
* Understanding of legislation and best practice in relation to People Services issues/employment
Skills and Aptitudes
* Self-motivated with high standards for self and others
* Effective interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both written/verbally in a friendly and helpful manner
* Ability to work on and use own initiative, prioritise work and work accurately to multiple deadlines
