The Finance Department is looking to recruit an Assistant Finance Officer. This role will work within the financial accounting team with a strong link to the Finance Business Partners, budget managers, clinical professionals, and other members of the finance team. This role will provide a dynamic, professional, and effective financial accounting service for the Trust.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking, and motivated individual to join a well-established finance team. You should have a strong customer focus and be proactive and supportive in the face of organisational change. Excellent communication skills are also essential as you will be dealing with and influencing colleagues at all levels on a daily basis.
Main duties of the job
You will be an integral member of a dynamic, professional, and proactive finance team providing a comprehensive and effective financial accounting service for the Trust. The post holder will support the provision of the financial accounting and complete the accounts payable and/or receivable processes. You will also have strong IT and analytical skills, being able to support the ongoing development of core financial systems. Strong communication with the Finance Officers, Finance Business Partners, and the Financial Accounting team will be necessary to ensure the accuracy of month-end processing.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Intermediate qualification; or NVQ level 3; or Advanced EDCL; or qualified by 2 years' relevant experience in finance.
* Full AAT qualification would be an advantage.
Experience
* Experience of working in a busy office environment, preferably in an accountancy related role.
* Understanding of basic accounting principles including debits and credits, income and expenditure.
* Experience of managing own workload, within the context of wider set objectives.
* Experience of using Microsoft Office.
* Experience of using financial ledger systems, preferably Oracle Financials.
