The role is a position where adaptability is key. It is a Monday - Friday role with overtime available to meet our site’s needs, and there may be times when you are away overnight, which the company accommodates.
A company vehicle is provided for this role, and we request that you have a FULL UK manual car driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
Role Responsibility
As our Mobile Maintenance Fitter (Silo), you will be responsible for undertaking plant maintenance, repairs, and improvements to ensure maximum reliability of all plant associated areas and to assist team members in aspects of plant operation.
Your responsibilities as the Mobile Maintenance Fitter (Silo) will include (not exhaustive):
* Responding to plant breakdowns and being responsible for the correct and efficient repair of equipment while keeping downtime to a minimum, adhering to the maintenance plan, and complying with all relevant statutory legislation and internal company Safety, Health, and Environmental standards.
* Fault finding on control panels of Mobile Silos and being fully conversant with inverters, parameters, and level indicators.
* PAT testing portable appliances and demonstrating competences in fault diagnosis.
* Ensuring that Mobile Silos are supplied to customers in a safe and fit-for-purpose working condition.
* Continuing to improve plant performance while maintaining safety, maintenance, and asset reliability.
* Contributing to the in-house development of the Computer Maintenance Management System.
* Ensuring that van stock levels are maintained.
* Utilising documents and maintaining policies, procedures, and associated guidelines for the safe and efficient maintenance of equipment in support of the maintenance and operations functions.
The Ideal Candidate
The role of Mobile Maintenance Fitter (Silo) is a varied, complex, and rewarding position that requires:
* Level 3 Apprentice trained or ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering would prove highly beneficial, although not essential, as QBE (Qualified by Experience) is essential in this role.
* Knowledge of maintenance practices – electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems would be highly advantageous along with welding.
* Experience working with gearboxes, motors, and pumps, and understanding of LOTOTO (Isolation of Plant and Equipment).
* Experience of TPM methodology and Continuous Improvement.
* Working knowledge of relevant engineering maintenance principles and practices, and experience in a relevant heavy engineering industry.
* Knowledgeable in the area of Predictive Maintenance.
* Experience in working with a Computer Maintenance Management System.
* Experience with Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode & Effect Analysis tools/techniques.
* Understanding of database systems as relevant to planned maintenance and logging of shift activities.
* An understanding of electrical and mechanical systems and knowledge of National and International codes and symbols used on drawings and specifications.
* Ability to learn Health and Safety rules applicable to each department regarding their own and other operators’ safety.
