Job Title: Assistant Management Accountant
Department: Finance
Reports To: Finance Manager – Financial Reporting
Location: Gillingham / Hybrid
Overview
Reporting to the Finance Manager for Financial Reporting, this assistant management accountant role will focus on operating expense accounting, business partnering with marketing business units, and daily sales reporting for the UK & Ireland distribution business.
Job Responsibilities
1. Run the daily sales reporting process for all UK & Ireland distribution businesses, consolidating results to add value to the leadership team, and submitting to the US for consolidation.
2. Post month-end journals for the operating expenses of marketing business units, including allocations to other areas of the Henry Schein Group.
3. Produce monthly analysis of costs, working closely with senior management accountants.
4. Generate regular forecasts of operating expense spend for marketing.
5. Partner with Business Leaders and senior management accountants to identify areas of concern or opportunity within marketing operating expenses.
6. Assist in maintaining the integrity of the balance sheet through regular, accurate reconciliations.
7. Responsible for marketing operating expense annual budgeting.
8. Assist in loading financial data into global consolidation tools, Hyperion and PBCS.
Job Skills & Experience Required
To succeed, you should have:
* AAT qualification or working towards it, or be on an apprenticeship scheme.
* Proficiency in advanced Excel skills.
* Significant experience working with large and complex data sets.
* Knowledge of basic accounting principles such as accruals and prepayments.
