Fitness Instructor £26,409 - £27,711 per annum (Pro Rata) Benfleet Essex Part-Time, Permanent Closing Date: Monday 17th March 2025 Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Castle Point Borough Council to recruit a Fitness Instructor on a part-time, permanent basis. This role will consist of two shifts per week, Monday's 05:30am-11:15am & Friday's 08:45am-14:45pm at Waterside Leisure Centre Why Castle Point? Promote physical well-being, encouraging healthy lifestyle habits, and ensuring the safe and effective use of fitness equipment. Tailor exercise plans to suit clients' fitness levels, goals, and needs and provide clear instructions and demonstrations for proper technique and form. Inspire individuals to maintain regular exercise routines and educate clients on the benefits of physical activity and healthy living. Ensuring amazing customer interaction and retention. Accountabilities To carry out regular personal training sessions on a weekly basis, maintaining high service and professional manor To act in a manner which is professional and exhibits the right skills and behaviours to promote Castle Point Borough Council in a positive manner in line with its policies and cultures. Demonstrate the correct way to use exercise equipment and give advice and encouragement. Monitor the misuse of equipment and rectify customer faults. Work with customers to develop personal exercise and diet plans to assist clients in attaining their weight loss or healthy lifestyle goals and fitness targets. Maintain and update client records. To undertake the reception function within the Fitness suite, including payments over the phone, bookings, control and monitoring of entry to the centre. To undertake classes consistent with relevant qualifications held. To work at any of the Council's Leisure facilities as required. To deliver Personal Training sessions to the standard set by the Health and Fitness Manager To hit monthly targets set by the Health and Fitness Manager To deliver personal training sessions out of working hours and keep a weekly log of personal training sessions delivered To maintain safe practice whilst delivering personal training, always ensure you are confident enough to deliver training sessions, no matter the situation or refer. To be respectful of customers and clients needs and keep everything confidential.
