The Centre for Blended Realities (CBR) at Falmouth University aspires to be a pioneering force in empowering the application of technology within artistic practice and creative research. We are looking for a new Senior Creative Technician to join the Centre for Blended Realities team. The post holder will provide a professional level of technical support, demonstration, and supervision for the technical facilities, equipment, and processes in one or more of the subject areas of the centre. This includes the set-up, maintenance and supply of resources and equipment, and the provision of technical assistance and advice to all users, including students, teaching and research staff, and external clients About You You will possess a specialist knowledge in your area while employing a broad-spectrum approach to technology application, with skills in areas such as 3D, real time, and pre-rendered, video and photography, AI utilisation, coding, and electronics. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification or experience, recent experience of curriculum support, and experience of working closely with academic colleagues. You will have an up-to-date knowledge of related technical practice and a willing commitment to continual specialist development and training, as well as a proven ability to service and maintain technical facilities, equipment, and processes. Effective teamwork is vital in this role to enable the operation and delivery of technical support and services, and to actively promote the services and cross-disciplinary working. You will have excellent and diplomatic communication skills and be able to engage with students in the realisation of concepts through practical application and taught sessions, create and nurture relationships with key contacts and partners in related industries, and be enthusiastic about developing and maintaining good working relationships across departments.
